We have been SUCH Sneaky Petes lately about the amazing new eatery that is COMING SOON to downtown Shreveport! A couple of weeks ago, we spilled the beans with a photo of a popular and talented local restauranteur standing in front of the new bright red doors at artspace, 708 Texas Street.
Pepito Munoz, he of the former much-loved restaurant on Creswell and soon, a new restaurant on Youree Drive, is opening a small, chic, and oh-so-good dining spot at the location of the former Parish Taceaux. Pepito XO@artspace is waiting on the typical things- permit & ABO finals and all those requirements that make you not only good, but good and legal.
He has big plan for the small space that fit in well with what is happening downtown. Pepito wants to coordinate with the activities happening downtown- think post- dinner or drinks apres ‘Beautiful’ at the Strand Theatre, or after Lyle Lovett or Kevin Gates at the Municipal Auditorium. Right now, there are few restaurants downtown (or most anywhere, really) open for a later-night crowd, and Pepito wants to help fill that void. His new downtown restaurant will also be aggressive about setting up Prix Fixe menu for pre-event dining. Love Happy Hours? So do they, so prepare for post-work fun. Sunday brunches will be a thing, too.
Crews are working on the space, painting, cleaning and making repairs. The hoped-for opening date is just a few weeks, and of course we will keep you updated. Pepito and crew would love to have doors thrown open for the opening of Artspace’ new blockbuster summer exhibit, Chip Kidd’s Batman, but if not, the opening will be soon…very, very soon, and we couldn’t be happier.
Stay tuned!
